Corteva, Inc. was formed as a result of a spin-off from the merger between The Dow Chemical Company and DuPont. As part of the merger agreement, it was decided that the combined company would eventually be split into three separate companies, with one of them being focused on agriculture. Corteva, Inc. is now one of the world’s leading agricultural companies and since going public, the company has done marginally well. The real issue is converting retained earnings to book value growth, which has only been accomplished through share buybacks it seems. Long-term, Corteva may be dead weight until management can figure it out.
